“What’s gone, and what’s past help,Should be past grief.” —William Shakespeare
The Winter’s Song, inspired by Shakespeare’s “The Winter’s Tale,” is an interesting little ebook mystery for a wintery night. It kept me reading and was pretty good—although somewhat predictable—but it’s an engaging story with a timeless message.
The author has talent, but the plot line seemed to wrap up a little too quickly and left me with a few unanswered questions. Plus, this is a young adult book so the use of language—although brief—and implied sexual content—although Shakespearean—seemed inappropriate, as if she was trying to appeal to a broader, more worldly audience. Also, for those who find this annoying in an ebook, there is no table of contents that tells how many chapters to expect—there’s 25, if you’re wondering. Plus the final chapter is not so much of a conclusion, but rather an epilogue.
“My life is for you. My voice is dedicated now to singing you lullabies. I sing to you every night and morning. I hope you can hear me. I think you can.” —Jeana Watters, The Winter’s Song
“It doesn’t matter who carried you, or where you started, but where you are now. This doesn’t change who you are.” —Jeana Watters, The Winter’s Song

The Winter Song edition by Jeana Watters Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews
I loved the twists and turns of this beautiful story! The ended was the perfect amount of tragic and beauty.
I loved this book. A mix of poetic, thought provoking Shakespeare and a tale of two lovebirds from the 90's made this book the perfect read for me. Beautiful poetry, a dark mystery and love kept me invested and excited until the end!
